Escaping Flatland

Dimensions have always been a major aspect in artwork of all stages. Kids when they are young draw extremely flat planes and stick figures. However, as they progress they begin to escape this flatland. The article on this concept had many interesting concepts within it. When they talked about our language and how it " lacks immediate capacity to communicate a sense of dimensional complexity." Made me think of how language is normally not very complex and uses a great amount of basic slang. I also thought the way they used visuals in the article was very creative and interesting. Such as the McDonald's map and the stereo images. Overall, I think that this article made a bunch of valid points that actually opened my eyes once more about the world.

Postmodernism Project

For my Postmodernism project I went off the quote, "The sad thing about artificial intelligence is that it lacks artifice and therefore intelligence" (Jean Baudrillard). On my project I put images of robots, to animals, to blurring the lines with cyborgs. The idea of the entire project was to try and represent the quote and send the message that artificial intelligence is becoming so realistic the line between the two is beginning to become indiscernible. The color scheme in this project was somewhat of a mixture of my own custom color scheme along with a reddish orange and blue complimentary color scheme. Also, black and white splattered paint is all across the painting. I chose this scheme because of the images that I chose.
